If a perfume can transport you to another place, another time – then imagine what that place would look like if it were a drawing
An ode to the classic Eau de Cologne.
I recently received a bottle of ‘Agua De Colonia Concentrada’ by spanish house Alvarez Gómez from a friend as a birthday gift.
Some of my other guests commented on how it smelled like grandmothers and hospital.
I however cherish a soft spot for any eau de cologne, especially the original 4711 by Mäurer & Wirtz.
Sometimes when it’s just way too hot outside in summer, I crave a good eau de cologne.
Above all, 4711 takes me back to my child hood.
The scent library I had developed sofar contained many spices from the indonesian food my mum always cooked. But 4711 was one of the first bottled fragrances I can remember.
This drawing is about not knowing how, not knowing what lies ahead.
It’s about feeling alone in the dark.
Its and ode to bravery ,fear and innocence.
From the 4711 website:
The world-famous classic fragrance which has been positively influencing body, mind, and spirit for 222 years now.
The precious ingredients are carefully harmonised. Bergamot, lemon, and orange provide a uniquely revitalising effect. Lavender and rosemary have a calming and relaxing effect, strengthening the nerves. Neroli, extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange, has a calming effect in the base note, creating a positive mood.
